Special Education

Each child in public school in California is a general education student first. To realize this vision each student who receives special education services should be served in the least restrictive environment with access to the best first instruction in the Common Core State Standards. All adults in the educational system are responsible for the education and support of all students, regardless of need. Our mission is to provide early interventions and appropriate Pre-Kindergarten thru 12th grade education that prepares all students for a seamless transition to adult life with the expectation that all students will learn and become productive citizens.

Los Molinos Unified School District provides services and programs to meet the needs of differently-abled students eligible for Special Education services. Most of these services can be provided for qualified students at our schools in collaboration with general education programs. However, some services and programs are only available at specified schools throughout the district and may require enrollment at a designated site.

Important Information Regarding Confidential Student Data

A recent lawsuit against the California Department of Education (CDE) is impacting all school districts across the state.  Unified is not involved in the lawsuit or the subject of any of the lawsuit's allegations.

As part of the lawsuit, CDE has been ordered by the court to disclose information that contains the protected personal information of students who are attending, or have attended, a California school at any time since January 1, 2008.  For more information and to review CDE's Notice of Disclosure of Student Records and the process to file an objection with the court, please visit: http://www.cde.ca.gov/re/di/ws/morganhillcase.asp or contact CDE at (916) 319-0800.

Los Molinos Unified has provided the link above at the request of CDE.  As Los Molinos Unified is not involved in this matter, it is for informational purposes only.  If parents or students have any questions, they should contact CDE.
